From the Desk of the President of IANANC

It is my honor and privilege to serve you as the president of Indian American Nurses Association North Carolina (IANANC) chapter. This time I reminisce IANANC’s growth from its inception to the current state and acknowledge the magnificent work of the past presidents and the committee members.

The past three years were challenging, but we endured through experimenting many things which was never considered or thought impracticable. Brought in many ideas. modifications, creativity, and life adjustments to withstand the inescapable reality and still tussling for a new dawn.

As we begin our new chapter together in 2023, let us rekindle the spark we had prior to the outset of the pandemic and strive to create a community of excellence in nursing. Let’s continue to embrace the values and culture we brought to this land of opportunity and build each other for a better tomorrow.

Looking forward to partnering with all of you to have a marvelous 2 years to promote professional excellence, optimize our contributions to the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities, and build each other professionally through mentor mentee relationship. Let us display our value through PRACTICE: Positive attitude (focusing on what is good and worthwhile for each situation), Responsive (being quick to respond to any needs and expectations), Accountable (accountable for our actions and behavior), Compassionate (suffer together), Teamwork (help each other to win and take pride in each other’s victories), Impartial (free from undue bias), Conscientious (wishing to do what is right) and Exemplary (model for example of positive action).

 Sincerely,
Dr. Sheela Sajan, DNP, RN, NEA-BC President, IANANCiananc2010@gmail.com
